Chrysler lab evacuated following chemical spill
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Employees have been evacuated from an engineering laboratory at Chrysler LLC's world headquarters in Auburn Hills following a chemical spill.
Chrysler spokeswoman Shawn Morgan says nobody was hurt in the incident about 9 p.m. Wednesday and the situation is under control.
Detroit television station WXYZ says the spill involved about 600 gallons of Dowtherm J, a chemical used as a coolant.
Morgan says third-shift employees are being told to report to work, but to go to the designated evacuation area.
